Converting from Radiators to Furnace and Air Conditioner with Ductwork?  That is our specialty.   Holiday Heating holds a Mechanical contractors license, Boiler Installers License and a Builders License.  We know what is behind your walls without using a hammer.  Based upon our experience in home construction we can fit ductwork in your home without destroying it.  Often times the cost of adding a high velocity air conditioning system is more expensive than installing a furnace with air conditioner and ductwork.  Call us to save money and get a better result.

Common Requests From Customers

NO HEAT:  BOILER

Check that Pilot is lit, power is on at boiler and thermostat is set to heat and the temperature is turned up.  Drain approximately 1 pint of water once per week at each boiler drain.  If you do not know which ones to drain then send us a picture in a text.  If you can't figure out what is wrong, text or call.  Though we do travel all throughout metro detroit, the majority of our work is within Grosse Pointe.  This means when you call, we are most likely not far away.

NO HEAT: FURNACE

Make sure your thermostat is turned to heat with the temperature turned up.  Then go to the furnace and remove filter and look for LED lights, usually near the bottom (most of the time there is a clear "sight glass" that you can look through).  The LED light will blink a number of times to tell you what the problem is.  Once this step is complete, or if there is no LED, turn the power off and then back on.  The startup sequence is 90 Seconds BLOWER (sometimes), then VENT MOTOR, once vent motor is confirmed to be running the ignitor powers up (orange glow if it works or sometimes spark), then gas valve clicks, Gas ignites, Flame is confirmed, then blower starts up and you have heat.  Whenever this process stops, that identifies the problem.  If you can't solve it yourself, call us or text for immediate service.

NO COOLING

REMOVE YOUR FILTER.  Turn thermostat to cooling and down low.  Make sure the outdoor unit is clean.  Turn the indoor unit off and on at the unit (looks like a light switch on the side of the unit usually).  Is the indoor unit running?  Is the outdoor unit running?  If there is no cooling shut it down to prevent damaging the unit.

HIGH VELOCITY OR SPACEPAK

When you have a boiler, people will usually recommend Spacepak or Unico for Air Conditioning.  Our Company is an expert in these systems.  They are very finnicky and expensive:  90% of the time they are not installed properly and will act up every single year, only to have a contractor come out and do a bunch of guessing.   Don't do that.  If it is not working call us and we will fix it.  If your system keeps breaking down regularly i truly apologize for your misfortune, but you have found the company that can actually fix it.  Call or Text for help.  Send pictures!

Boiler Conversion

If you have an old boiler the cost to replace is about $7,500-$12,500.  A new AC System is about $18,000-$30,000 for Unico or Spacepak.   Converting to Gas forced air with standard ductwork is between $14,000-$30,000.  The cost to convert a boiler to gas forced air will usually end up saving you $.  We have converted hundreds of homes, from modest sized homes to extravagant mansions-  if you know what you are doing there is always a way to make the ductwork fit - usually in the corner of closte(s).  Do not hire a company to convert your boiler to gas forced air unless they have a boiler installers license, mechanical contractors license and builders license.  Because of the specificity of this job, there are only 20 contractors or so within the state that meet this criteria.  Holiday Heating is one of them.  Call us because we are shooting for a perfect job.  Our pricing is competitive.
